In the year Pakistan signed an MOU with IRO Iran for establishment of Textile Composite Unit in various placed in the province of Balochistan. Lasbela Textile Mill established at Uthal Industrial Estate was one of the project established in joint venture of both countries. This was a huge project comprising of 102 acres of land and become a base for establishment of Uthal Industrial Estate. Originally this industrial estate was initiated by the Industries & Commerce Department, Government of Balochistan under the supervision of Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Balochistan; however after establishment of Lasbela Industrial Estates Development Authority, the control of Uthal Industrial Estate was assigned to this Authority.
